Whether you are a local orienteer or one from far away, this event is for you! We invite everyone to come out and experience the excitement of orienteering at a National Championship event held in some the finest orienteering terrain in the Mid-Atlantic region. Come see US junior orienteers compete for both interscholastic and intercollegiate team and individual titles and for the right to represent the United States in the 2019 Junior World Orienteering Championships, while testing yourself in the same terrain.

The 2019 Quantico Classic will feature one day of middle distance competition, plus a short relay, followed by one day of long distance competition. You are welcome to compete in just one, two or all three races. Final results and individual placings for the weekend, other than for the junior classes which have their own separate scoring system dictated in the OUSA rules of competition, will be based on 2-day combined times.

This event is open to orienteers of all levels. Open Course Classes allow participation by those who do not want to run in their own age class. In other words, if you are a 30 year old male who'd prefer not to run a blue course (the course for that age bracket), feel free to sign up for any other course.

Please refer back to this website often as event details will be added periodically.

What are the Junior  Nationals?

Held annually, the U.S. Junior National Champs consists of either two days of classic distance orienteering races or one middle distance race and one long distance race. Awards for Junior classes are based on finishing time relative to the winner each day for junior classes, combining the scores for the two days for each competitor, with the lowest score winning.  School team scores are the sum of the scores of the team members, lowest total team score again winning.

Standard national age classes will be in effect.
